INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After winning the Pac-10 Championships this past weekend, Stanford University vaulted into the top spot in the final USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. Stanford edged Harvard University by three polling points to claim its first-ever No. 1 ranking. Stanford garnered 11 of the 25 first-place votes, while Harvard walked away with 14 first-place votes. In the final Division II Varsity Eight Coaches Poll, the University of California at Davis took over the top spot, garnering all five first-place votes.
In Division I, last week’s No. 1, the University of Washington, dropped to No. 3, while Princeton University and the University of Virginia rounded out the top five. In Division II, Western Washington is ranked second followed by Florida Tech.
The NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships for Divisions I, II and III will be held May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis, Ind.
