[Wilmington, DE] – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Marnie Stahl as the new Executive Director, effective July 12, 2023. With an impressive background in the rowing world, Marnie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this pivotal role.

Marnie Stahl has dedicated years to the sport of rowing, establishing herself as a respected coach and leader. Her notable achievements include a remarkable 17-year coaching tenure at Notre Dame, where she honed her skills and shaped the future of countless student-athletes. Marnie’s passion for rowing extends beyond coaching, as she has actively contributed to the growth and development of the sport at various levels. She has served on the USRowing Board of Directors, DEI Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Awards Committee, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the sport’s inclusivity, strategic vision, and recognition.

Having earned her Executive MBA from the esteemed University of Notre Dame – Mendoza School of Business in 2022, Marnie possesses a comprehensive understanding of the business and administrative aspects crucial to the success of the CRCA. Currently, she serves as the Associate Director of Graduate Business Career Development at her alma mater, further showcasing her expertise in fostering professional growth and opportunities.

The CRCA Board expresses profound gratitude to John Gartin for his dedicated work and unwavering commitment during his tenure as the inaugural Executive Director over the past year. John’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping the CRCA’s foundation, and the board eagerly anticipates his ongoing involvement and invaluable insights in the future.

Moreover, as stated by John on behalf of the search committee, “The search committee of myself, Bebe Bryans, Maddie Davis Tully, Martin Stone, and Tessa Spillane was excited at the depth of the applicant pool and the challenge of selecting the right candidate.  It was a challenging selection process and the three candidates in the 2nd round of interviews all presented very strong cases to be the next CRCA Executive Director.  The entire committee was excited to issue the offer to Marnie and thrilled that Marnie accepted the role of Executive Director.  The vision and facts that Marnie presented in the interviews are in strong alignment with the mission and direction that the Board of Directors have for the future of the CRCA.  She is an outstanding selection for the next Director of the CRCA!”

Under Marnie Stahl’s leadership, the CRCA looks forward to embarking on a new era of growth, innovation, and collaboration.
