Future Board Meetings – change to meeting 1 time a month. Work on submitting agenda items earlier and sending out pre-meeting.
1. Updates – Maddie
1.meeting with NCAA liaison- JP Williams ( replacing Kelly W.) had a call with him and Liz. Jenny Simon-O’Neill was also on the call. Wanted to better understand his role and also what we are trying to accomplish. Was useful and very productive. (Sport Group = the selection Committee ( for each Division )
~If the issue is not a change in budget, roster size, etc = goes to committee. If we wanted to expand regatta, change # of ppl that go, it would start in that group, but would need to go to NCAA Championships Committee, through the committee or supported by a conference
We need to be working much closer with the Sport Group, and having more conversations with them, etc.
Committee is very open to attending any meetings we need, or some of us could attend a NCAA Rowing Group Meeting.
Ideas for the committee to host a meeting- having it earlier (before racing starts)
~Walking through the selection criteria- what order priority? (wording)
~Mock selection process or use a previous year? and Give a way for coaches to submit questions ahead of time? Anonymously
***They said to wait on legislative items until September due to current NCAA reconfiguring happening at highest level (now through NCAA Conference-spring)

Sponsorship – current sponsorship with pocock- are they renewing for 2022? ALSO -revisit ARI deal?
Legislation – will need a new chair for the committee. Can we wait until elections?
Membership – need a big push this week, I’ll be emailing teams who have not renewed today.- CONSEQUENCES for not joining ( polls, awards…)
Do we allow them to become members after Jan 15th? Yes. – all agree.
Are there consequences- ? yes,
Jamie – but adding in a late fee for this year doesn’t seem right because of increased prices for this year, long term, we need to instill a late fee ( first- jamie, second – Kate, Liz) approved.
Education – Will set a meeting offline for seminar and mentor programs
Sustainability– working on a few employment items ( questions for a lawyer, finding a lawyer, contract, etc)
Polls-first poll, late february, then do we want a new website for pollsters? Right now, its working well, so will get a new site when derek comes off the board and someone new takes over
HOF – in the process of rewriting the rules to nominate (Jane)
